Vocational Education and Training Pathways
If you are completing a Certificate IV or above at TAFE, a Private College or Community College, then you are on the Vocational Education and Training pathway to commencing studies at the University of Western Sydney.
UWS and other education providers have agreed on ways in which your study can count toward your UWS degree.
You may be eligible for guaranteed entry to a UWS degree as well as the recognition of prior learning (advanced standing). The pathways have been divided into the following areas:
- Accounting and Financial Advising Pathways
Accounting, Financial Advising and Financial Planning courses
- Business and Management Pathways
Business Management, Marketing, Retail, Human Resources, Hospitality,Training and Assessment, Logistics, Sport and Recreation and Frontline Management courses. - Computing Pathways
General IT, Systems Analysis and Design, Systems Administration, Networking, Database and Design, Software Development, Website Development and Network Security courses. - Science Pathways
Medical Science and Biomolecular Science courses. - Nursing Pathways
Enrolled Nursing courses. - Tourism Pathways
Event Managment, Tourism Management and Operations Management courses. - Welfare Pathways
Social Work, Community Services Case Management, Community Development, Community Services Management, Welfare Work, Youth Work and Disability Work courses.
If you have completed your studies overeseas, there are International Education Pathways
If you have completed a course that is not listed under the agreed UWS/VET Pathway, you can apply for Advanced Standing (recognition of prior learning) and follow the approval process. Information and an application form can be accessed from the Advanced Standing pages.
