We’re seeing a bigger population, technology advancements and environmental issues, all of which are placing unprecedented pressure on our natural resources. A UWS degree in the Natural Sciences will enable you to understand these competing pressures and contribute to the development of sustainable strategies to drive change. In Australia, the importance of the natural sciences continues to attract attention at the highest levels of government policy and public opinion.

The Bachelor of Natural Science allows you to include another major or sub-major from different areas of science or other disciplines including the arts, business, humanities, and social sciences (this may require cross campus study, subject to timetabling availability). The degree also gives you an opportunity to explore various areas and to change your focus as your knowledge grows. If you’re interested in pursuing a high school teaching career in science, this degree will provide you with a good framework to fulfil your ambition.

The Bachelor of Natural Science produces graduates who are well equipped to work in a range of applied natural science disciplines related to our environment, our food and rural sustainability. These graduates will also be qualified to work in a variety of roles within science and technology.
You’ll also have the option of teaching secondary school science once appropriate units of study and a teacher education award have been completed.
