Here's proof
Associate Professor Basant Maheshwari currently leads a multi-disciplinary research team through the Co-operative Research Centre Irrigation Futures (CRC IF) to identify business opportunities for improving management of effluent, stormwater and ground water resources to satisfy environmental and irrigation demands in the South Creek Catchment, Western Sydney.
The project seeks to identify business opportunities for irrigators, both urban and peri-urban, to become part of an expanding environmental service industry and in so doing support a truly sustainable and diversified irrigation business environment.
The project is expected to improve policies and institutional settings that support integrated water resource management in the Western Sydney region.

Most environmental and land-use management courses are ideally based on our Hawkesbury campus, which is located near one of the largest remnants of wilderness in NSW, the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, and remnants of Cumberland Forest. It is also surrounded by agricultural and urban areas. With the mix of ecosystems, many environmental and sustainability issues can be explored on campus, in the sophisticated, well-equipped research laboratories and research centres provided to support student research projects.
Our built environment courses are based on Blacktown and Penrith campuses. As a student, you'll benefit from state-of-the-art 'purpose built' laboratory facilities, so you can investigate important practical aspects of construction and housing (e.g. how sound acts in different environments, how materials change composition when exposed to corrosives).
