Law Courses

It's all about courses...

The school places special emphasis on the acquisition of legal skills with students undertaking a variety of assessment tasks concerned with the development of communication and advocacy skills; these include oral presentations, moot courts, negotiations, interviews and drafting work.

It's all about opportunities...

The School of Law is trialling an exciting volunteering Pro Bono Students Australia (PBSA) program for UWS law students with the assistance of the National Pro Bono Resource Centre (NPBRC). This program provides students with the opportunity to assist in the provision of services with volunteering organisations that enhance access to justice for low income and disadvantaged people.

It's all about our students...

UWS law students have an outstanding record of wins in international and national mooting competitions. Most recently, in 2005, UWS law students won the prestigious Lexis Nexis Constitutional Law moot with student James Willis winning the award of best oralist for the competition. The final was argued before Mr Justice Kirby in the High Court of Australia.

The school publishes two journals - the University of Western Sydney Law Review and the Elder Law Review.

We offer students a supportive atmosphere - our academic, administrative and library staff are knowledgeable and student-oriented in their approach, and are available for individual consultation. We have excellent modern facilities with high quality library resources and state of the art moot courts, and there is an active and enthusiastic UWS Law Students' Association and Law Alumni subchapter.

Take the high road ... choose UWS Law.
