Advanced Standing

Advanced standing will be granted in accordance with UWS policy.

Admission

Applications from Australian citizens and holders of permanent resident visas must be made via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

International applicants must apply directly to the University of Western Sydney via UWS International.

Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English. Details of minimum English proficiency requirements and acceptable proof can be found on the Universities Admissions Centre website (UAC).

Overseas qualifications must be deemed by the Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) to be equivalent to Australian qualifications in order to be considered by UAC and UWS.

Applicants must possess:

An Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent,

OR

An Australian advanced diploma or equivalent, together with at least three years post qualification managerial or professional experience,

OR

An Australian postgraduate certificate or equivalent,

OR

At least four years of supervisory or managerial or professional experience relevant to the area of study.

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of four Postgraduate units totalling 40 credit points and must be approved by the Head of Program.

The four units will consist of units from the following disciplines:

This degree may be studied as preparation for entry into various graduate awards.

Graduate Certificate in Business

This course is broad based business qualification suitable for existing managers seeking to up-skill their knowledge of management theory and practice. Students can choose four postgraduate units from existing business and commerce courses. This course can be a stand alone qualification or used as a preparatory course for future postgraduate study.

Students wishing to continue into a Masters program should seek advice from the Head of Program and choose units that will most easily allow for later credit transfer into the Masters degree of choice.
