A one-week placement is in Year 1 for all health science students. Students majoring in Health Services Management undertake two placements each of four weeks and additional short placements in Year 3, developing skills in managing and responding to changes within the health care system, the broader political sphere and in areas that deal with policy initiation, development and evaluation.
Bachelor of Health Science (Health Services Management) graduates are in demand to work in project management, health service administration, financial management and human resource management, and in areas that deal with policy initiation, development and evaluation. Two areas of growth are in mental health services and the aged care sector. Our Health Science graduates are reaching the top of their organisations, building on the management skills they gained at UWS to become CEOs.
