Indigenous Information Evening

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Information Evening - Penrith Campus - 4th Nov 2014

The University of Western Sydney would like to invite high school and mature age students and teachers to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Information Evening at UWS Penrith (Kingswood campus) (opens in a new window) to learn more about the great higher education opportunities available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Information Evenings will give prospective students and teachers the opportunity to speak to key staff from UWS, enquire about block mode programs and mainstream degrees, and find out about scholarships and support services.

There will be a presentation covering the following topics:

  • The Badanami Alternative Entry Program Application
  • How to apply
  • Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education
  • Student Support Services
  • Courses
  • University Life
  • Scholarships
  • Study Assistance
  • Free Tuition

Food will be provided.

Badanami Alternative Entry Program thumbnail

Badanami Alternative Entry Program - 10th Nov 2014

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school and mature age students can apply to study at the University of Western Sydney through the Badanami Alternative Entry Program. The program is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have not:

  • Completed high school
  • Obtained an ATAR or high enough ATAR score for their chosen course
  • Received sufficient workplace experience
  • Obtained a Higher School Certificate (HSC)

Students who receive a lower ATAR can gain admission into a course with a higher ATAR through the Badanami Alternative Entry Program.

Test dates are Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November 2014.

The Badanami Alternative Entry Program is a two day test held on the Kingswood (Penrith) campus. Students will be given an interview and tested on basic mathematics and English.
